DyadIQ

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 6, 2026

Welcome to DyadIQ. This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect, how we use it, with whom we may share it, and what choices you have regarding your information.

By using the site and service, you agree to this Privacy Policy and to DyadIQ's Terms of Service.

What is DyadIQ?

DyadIQ is a digital service designed to help parents, children, and teenagers get to know each other better, through short questions, comparing answers, and insights about their relationship.

The service is in early development. How it operates, the types of information collected, and how it is used may change over time. We will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

How your answers move from draft to saved

DyadIQ is designed so that nothing is saved on our servers before a parent (or legal guardian) actively agrees to it:

  • When a parent starts the game, their choices and the first three answers stay only in their own browser (a local, temporary draft) until they confirm the consent step below — nothing is sent to our servers before that.
  • When an eligible (13+) child starts the game, their first three answers are stored temporarily on our servers for up to 72 hours, solely so a parent can open the invitation and decide whether to continue. This temporary storage is not yet part of a saved game, is not used to produce a round summary, long-term history, or AI guidance, and is deleted automatically if the parent does not respond in time or declines.
  • Only after a parent completes the consent step are the relevant answers saved persistently and processed to produce the dyadic comparison and insights for that round.

What information may we collect?

Information as part of the dyadic experience

Once saved (see above), we may collect:

  • Answers to questions;
  • A unique dyadic code (DyadID);
  • Matches or gaps between parent and child answers;
  • Insights generated from answers;
  • Progress status (e.g. whether the parent started, the child answered, results were shown);
  • The declared age band used to determine eligibility to play (see "Children and minors" below) — we do not collect an exact birth date;
  • Timestamps of actions taken on the site.

Information users provide voluntarily

Users may optionally provide:

  • First name or nickname;
  • Email address;
  • Phone number;
  • A parent's email address for sending links, results, or insights;
  • Age or age group;
  • Gender, if the user chooses to provide it;
  • Family relationship type (parent, child, teenager, mom, dad, etc.);
  • Any other information the user chooses to enter.

There is no obligation to provide information that is not required for basic use of the service. We recommend not providing sensitive personal information or information not needed for the experience.

Technical and usage information

When using the site, technical information may be collected, such as:

  • IP address — used to limit abuse, and converted to an irreversible value before anything is stored, so no address is retained;
  • Browser type and device;
  • Operating system;
  • Browser language;
  • Pages viewed;
  • Actions taken on the site;
  • Errors and technical issues;
  • Referral source, if available;
  • Country the game was opened from, derived from the network connection — used to choose the default language and to understand where the product is used;
  • A general description of your device and browser (for example, iPhone, Safari) — used to diagnose a technical issue affecting one kind of device.

This information is used to operate the site, secure it, fix issues, improve the user experience, and analyze general usage.

How do we use the information?

We may use the information for the following purposes:

  • Operating the service and presenting the dyadic experience;
  • Comparing parent and child answers;
  • Generating results, matches, gaps, and insights;
  • Sending links, results, or insights if requested by the user;
  • Saving dyad progress;
  • Improving questions, insights, accuracy, and user experience;
  • Analyzing usage patterns, including in aggregate or anonymous form;
  • Developing new features;
  • Contacting users who reached out or left details;
  • Sending updates, offers, pilot invitations, marketing materials, or additional content, subject to consent and applicable law;
  • Preventing abuse, securing the service, and handling technical issues;
  • Complying with legal requirements and protecting our rights.

Your email and how it is used

Providing a parent email is optional. If you provide it, we store it so we can send you operational notifications tied to your game — for example, letting you know when your child has completed a round. You will receive at most one such message per round. This operational use and marketing are separate choices: marketing is never enabled merely by entering an email address.

Before we send anything to an address, we email a confirmation link to it and wait for you to click. An address that is never confirmed never receives a notification. Every message we send carries a link to stop these notifications, and it works without signing in.

Marketing updates are sent only if you make a separate, explicit opt-in choice (a box that is unchecked by default). Operational email is delivered by Resend, an email delivery provider, from servers in the European Union (Ireland).

Marketing communications

If you provide us with an email address, phone number, or other contact details, we may use them — subject to the separate marketing opt-in above — to send you updates about DyadIQ, pilot invitations, content, offers, or information about additional services.

Marketing communications will be sent only where permitted by law or after appropriate consent has been obtained, where required.

Every marketing communication will include an unsubscribe option, where required by law.

Children and minors

DyadIQ is currently intended only for parents playing together with a child or teenager who is themselves aged 13 or over, and for independent use by teenagers aged 13 and over. This is a product decision, not itself a certification of compliance with any specific children's-privacy law.

A user who identifies as under 13 cannot proceed: the game is not shown, no answers are collected, and no age, name, or other detail is saved. There is currently no way for a child under 13 to participate, supervised or otherwise.

Age is collected only as a broad, self-declared age band (e.g. "13–15"), used solely to determine eligibility to play — never as an exact birth date, and never used for any other purpose.

We do not ask children to provide contact details such as an email address or phone number. Contact details of a child must not be entered into the service.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without your knowledge or consent, you may contact us at privacy@dyadiq.com, and we will review the request and delete information as needed, subject to applicable law.

We ask that sensitive information about children or teenagers not be entered into the service, including medical, psychological, legal, family-sensitive information, or information about violence, harm, substance use, self-danger, or any other information not required for use of the service.

Sensitive information

DyadIQ is not intended to collect medical, psychological, legal, criminal information, information about violence, self-harm, or other sensitive information.

Do not enter information into the site that is not required for the dyadic experience. If such information is entered voluntarily, we may delete it, disregard it, or handle it in accordance with applicable law and our discretion.

With whom may we share information?

We do not routinely sell personal user information to third parties.

However, we may share information in the following cases:

  • With the infrastructure providers that operate the service on our behalf — currently Supabase (database and backend hosting), Vercel (application hosting) and Resend (email delivery) — solely to provide the service, and with technology service providers who help us send messages, analyze usage, run analytics tools, process payments, or secure the service;
  • With professional advisors such as legal, accounting, technological, or business consultants, as required;
  • If required by law, court order, or competent authority, or to protect our rights;
  • In the event of a merger, acquisition, investment, restructuring, sale of activity, or asset transfer, where information may pass as part of the activity, subject to this policy and applicable law;
  • When information has been anonymized or aggregated in a way that does not reasonably identify a specific user.

External service providers will receive access to information only to the extent required to provide services on behalf of DyadIQ.

Aggregate and anonymous information

We may use information that has been aggregated or anonymized for research, product improvement, insight development, presenting general data, conversations with partners or investors, business activity, publications, or future development.

Aggregate or anonymous information is information that does not reasonably identify a specific individual.

Cookies, analytics, and measurement tools

The site may use cookies or similar technologies for:

  • Proper site operation;
  • Saving preferences;
  • Security;
  • Usage measurement;
  • Improving user experience;
  • Analytics;
  • Marketing, advertising, or content personalization, if activated in the future.

Cookies necessary for site operation may function without requesting separate consent.

Non-essential cookies, such as analytics, measurement, advertising, or marketing tools, will be activated subject to a consent mechanism or preference management, as required by law.

Cookie preferences can be changed through the banner or preference mechanism on the site, where available, and through browser settings.

AI features (not currently part of the base game)

The consent described in this policy covers only the base DyadIQ game — generating the dyadic comparison and insights for a round. It does not cover, and does not silently authorize, any future AI-assisted guidance or copilot feature, marketing use, billing, or sale of data. If an AI feature is introduced, it will require its own separate, clearly explained consent before it processes any of your information.

Data retention

Browser-local drafts (see "How your answers move from draft to saved" above) are never sent to our servers and exist only in your own browser until you confirm consent or leave the page.

Temporary pending answers (eligible child-first flow) are kept for up to 72 hours and are automatically deleted — not merely hidden — if the parent does not continue in that time or declines.

Once saved, we retain personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including operating the service, improving it, complying with legal requirements, legal protection, preventing abuse, and usage analysis.

We may retain dyadic information and answers for a certain period to allow results to be displayed, continued use, improved insights, and service development.

Users may contact us to request deletion of information, as described below.

Information security

We take reasonable measures to protect information from unauthorized access, misuse, loss, alteration, or disclosure.

However, no digital system is completely secure. Use of the site is made with the understanding that complete security of information transmitted or stored online cannot be guaranteed.

User rights

Subject to applicable law, users may be entitled to request:

  • Access to personal information stored about them;
  • Correction of inaccurate information;
  • Deletion of information;
  • Cessation of marketing communications;
  • Restriction of certain uses of information;
  • Additional information about how their information is used.

Privacy requests can be sent to:

privacy@dyadiq.com

In order to process a request, we may need to verify the identity of the requester or their connection to the relevant dyad.

International data transfers

The service may use storage, infrastructure, analytics, mailing, payment processing, or other technology service providers located outside your country or that process information internationally.

Use of the service constitutes agreement that information may be stored or processed in other countries, subject to applicable law and this policy.

Updates to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the service, technology, or applicable law. The date of the latest update will appear at the top of this page. If we make a material change to how we collect or use personal information, we will provide an appropriate notice within the service and request renewed consent where required.
